February 13, 2023 at 2:43 pm #51964Glad that helped, mate. You might need to play with the osc tuning… No worries 🙂

February 7, 2023 at 3:22 am #51878I was experimenting with sync/ring and found the latter better for the job 🙂
So enable ring mod and tune the carrier’s pitch down with around 115-120ct or 1.2st (semitone).
Both OSCs are set to SAW (experiment wit PWM for tone bit the SAW sounds the closest to me)
You’ll need to add a SubOSC as well. Think this can be a good starter.1 user thanked author for this post.

February 24, 2021 at 8:13 am #41010And I sense a downward pitch curve at the end so might be better just doing a long downward Envelope (SAW like shape) – just did another version with this. Volume should be safe in this 😀

February 24, 2021 at 7:06 am #41008LOWER your VOLUME! It came out a bit loud (normalized)

February 24, 2021 at 7:04 am #41004It seemed to be simple at the first glance but it is not 😀 Hard to nail the exact tone but I think I have something acceptable 🙂
Think it is a single OSC patch with no OSC detuning but two pitch mods. I can describe it as I made it in a hardware synth not Serum.
OSC : SAW
Envelope to Pitch MOD: upward curve, medium attack(make it longer overall), full sustain. depth: ~5-10%
LFO to OSC Pitch: Medium fast, depth ~20-25%, Sin shape
Filter LP: Cutoff 65% maybe bit lower, Resonance 0 – if you can carve out the bottom a bit (EQ or Bandpass)
AMP Envelope: little bit of attack to take away the initial transient, Decay 50%, Sustain 0 – so it silenced before pitch gets annoying, Release medium long
A slight bit of RING MOD to alter the tone -alternatively mix a tad bit of Triangle
Touch of ReverbOf course this is not a pro replication but might give you something to start with 🙂
Let me know how you found this approach!Attachments:

April 8, 2019 at 11:10 am #25301Oh, that’s brilliant this is definitely helpful and gives a big push.
My biggest struggle is the waveform (besides the rest) and its relation to the Filter now makes much more sense. Also coming back to it the other day is also a nice advise, yeah I know patience makes things more productive 🙂I think I print this post of yours and put it on the wall 😀
Many thanks, Joe the a professor 🙂

April 8, 2019 at 10:08 am #25294Lol: “scratch that mental itch”…
What you’re saying is very reasonable, I’m exactly about to gain that superpower. So might be not specific enough, I’d like to understand how to achieve what you do. If I’m understanding well you just keep practicing until it becomes a second nature?Maybe the best to tell about my problem (it is still about synthesis :D), I’m near to finish the Syntorial lessons and I usually work out the Group challenges often to 3 stars than 2 stars, but when it’s about a sound in a real track I block and just foggy hunches or nearly nothing that I got to go with…

January 23, 2019 at 3:05 pm #23433Could you do one for the bells in Tory Lanez Talk To ME and the synths in Motorcycle Patches by Travis Scott???
haven’t been here for a while buddy sorry…

January 23, 2019 at 3:03 pm #23431Wow, thanks for the awesome step-by-step, Joe. One question; what do you mean when you say 1:00 or 10:00 as parameters for cutoff and distortion? I’m using xFer Serum and it’s all based on percentages.
Clock wise mate, so 9:00 would be 25%, 12:00 —> 50%…etc. 🙂

October 18, 2018 at 4:14 pm #20953sorry mate, i was busy… so this sounds quite good well done 🙂

October 15, 2018 at 5:46 am #20871Yeah, exactly was about to get that piggy quality 🙂 Thanks for the tut but can’t hear your sample, it seems to be empty…

October 11, 2018 at 2:53 am #20744Isn’t this FM synthesis plus massive multi band compression?

October 10, 2018 at 4:20 am #20718Lol, same thing here, I think this is a different synthesis and there’s also post processing on it.
