I have recently purchased Syntorial. I am impressed with your knowledge and your ability to distill it down to an easily understood form. You have golden ears.

Now that I buttered you up a bit, I was wondering if you (or anyone) could tell me what exactly is the ART and Gorilla OSCs modes in Massive X. My lead ears think that Gorilla/king mode is some kind of sync and Gorilla/Kong mode is some kind of phase mod.

Would love your thoughts.

I have no idea what those two modes are actually doing from technical standpoint. But if you ask my ears it’s something like:

Gorilla: I agree, a very aggressive sync-like sound. I think all 3 fall within that description.

ART: Reminds me of a really resonant peak filter. The Width knob sounds like it controls the Q of the peak band, and the Pitch knob sets the frequency.
