The opening and recurring bass in Jai Paul’s “jasmine (Demo)” is a warm, wobbling low-end with a flabby, gritty character that sits under the vocals from the intro onward. We rebuilt it on a synth with layered medium-width pulse waves an octave apart with added noise and a rounded, driven low-pass filter that rounds the sound into an almost-sub bass with saturation. We use a subtle saw LFO pitch modulation to make it sound slightly out of tune, plus distortion for more grit and chorus for unstable width. Community recreations commonly route Juno-style synth emulations through amp/tube saturation and chorus to match the original’s warmth and grit.
