Hi guys, anyone fancy having a stab at the string like sound that is on the intro to this track? (It’s the first sound you hear when the song starts) I have been trying for ages but cannot get near it. It sounds like it’s been detuned but no matter what I try I cannot get it to sound the same or even similar. I think it was originally created using an ARP2600 but I’m not 100%.

        Try this:

        1. Osc 1: Saw
        2. Osc 2: Saw, 1 octave higher. Set the Osc volumes so that Osc 1 is a little louder than Osc 2, so that the higher saw is blended into the sound
        3. Unison: Both oscillators. 4 voices, medium Detune, no Spread
        4. Filter: Band Pass. Pretty high Cutoff so that you’re taking off a lot of low end, and just a bit of high end. Add Res if you need to sharpen the filter (make it more narrow). It should sound very light, and slightly rounded
        5. Reverb: Medium hall, about 25% Wet

Many thanks Joe. I cannot wait to give this a try. Just to also let you know how much enjoyment I’m getting from Syntorial. I’ve been messing about on synths since the 80’s but this is the first time I have really felt confident tweaking the controls. Previously it was push this button and see what happens where as now I have a pretty good idea what will happen before I touch anything. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for helping me out with this patch.
