Download The Preset or the preset Pack<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Firstly you\u2019ll want to grab  individual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.syntorial.com\/preset-recipes\/synth\/serum\/\">Serum presets<\/a> or a  preset pack. Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/presetshare.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">presetshare.com<\/a> bundles for free packs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2-unzip-the-serum-presets\">2. These allow the files to be smaller to download, and, as a result, quicker to download.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To access the files inside, you\u2019ll need to unzip them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re using&nbsp;<strong>Mac<\/strong>&nbsp;you just need to&nbsp;<strong>double click the zip file<\/strong>, and it will start unpacking for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On&nbsp;<strong>Windows<\/strong>, simply&nbsp;<strong>right-click &amp; select \u201cExtract all<\/strong>\u201c, and it will begin the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have WinRar installed (an unzipping program), you right click and select \u201cExtract Here\u201d. Organizing your presets into subfolders inside <code>Presets\/User\/<\/code> is a great idea. Some common ways to structure them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>By Type<\/strong> (e.g., <code>Basses<\/code>, <code>Leads<\/code>, <code>Pads<\/code>, <code>Plucks<\/code>, <code>FX<\/code>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>By Genre<\/strong> (e.g., <code>Techno<\/code>, <code>Trap<\/code>, <code>Ambient<\/code>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>By Project or Artist<\/strong> (e.g., <code>MyAlbumSounds<\/code>, <code>Artist-Inspired<\/code>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>By Sound Design Style<\/strong> (e.g., <code>Analog Emulations<\/code>, <code>FM Experiments<\/code>)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Serum will read any subfolder inside \/<code>User<\/code>, so you can browse them directly from Serum\u2019s browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"should-i-put-preset-packs-in-the-user-folder-or-right-in-the-root\"><strong>Should I Put Preset Packs In The User Folder, Or Right In The Root?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever works for you. I personally prefer putting 3rd party preset packs right at the root of the \/Presets folder, and use the \/User subfolder for working files and project: presets I&#8217;ve developed myself, or tweaked presets. I\u2019m going to use our organic orange sorbet wavetable pack (made out of deliciously organic foley).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Download it to your computer wherever you like, but remember you\u2019ve got to find it. To do that, just make a copy of the preset folder into the new location and then delete the original one. On next run Serum will prompt you with a &#8220;<em>Serum preset folder not found<\/em>&#8221; message &amp; will prompt you to point it to the new preset folder.
