    Hi,

I’m having trouble figuring out how to make the main, lead synth from this song. Thanks for any help.

This is a nice old school Vangelis-style pad.

It evolves throughout the track. I hear the detune amount changing, and the filter cutoff changing. So this will be a good starting point.

    How It’s Made

    • Synth: Primer
    • Oscillator: Saw
    • Unison: 4 voices, medium spread, 0.12 Detune. This spreads it out and gives it that nice washy detuned sound
    • Noise: -8.7 dB. Adds to the washiness and makes less “clean” sounding
    • Filter: Low Pass (24 dB). Cutoff 0.62, Res 0.3 to give it some point. Key Tracking 0.57 to brighten the higher notes
    • Amp Envelope: Attack 1282 ms, Release 1119ms. Nice and long entries and exits
    • Reverb: Size 0.9, Mix 77% Wet. This not only puts it in a big room, but it also gives it a bit of a metallic sheen.
    • Voices: Poly mode, 6 voices
