Hi,
Im really struggling to make the bass/808 sound that plays from the beginning of the song. Could you help ? I use Serum generally.
Thanks.

There’s another place where the bass has a relatively longer glide time –
Can both be achieved in 1 patch or do I need to make separate patches ?
Thank you, once again.
December 28, 2018 at 5:24 pm #22708I think two separate patches is necessary, since the kick attack is always there, even when the bass pitch is bending up/down. Can you post what you have so far?
December 29, 2018 at 2:52 am #22713I’ll be honest, I have nothing. I tried playing with glide on some existing presets of 808, but no luck.

The attack transients and pitch movement could be achieved with a combination of pitch envelope, mod wheel, and pitch wheel:
1. Pitch Envelope. Use this to create the attack transient. Quick Decay and a healthy envelope amount will create that kick-style transient and give you the basic 808 kick sound
2. Mod wheel. Route this to the Pitch Envelope’s Decay. When you want the pitch to slide down more noticeably (like it does on the very first note), turn up the mod wheel to increase the decay time, which will make that pitch drop slow down and become noticeable.
3. Pitch Wheel. Use this to make the pitch sweep up. Just manually push it up when you want the upward pitch sweep.
Post your attempt.
